Born in LA: Dolls and All - Part 1

This is the Part 1 (of 2) pilot script for half-hour comedy TV series "Born in LA." Circa late '90s, Marlene is a Gen X aspiring actress with an almost childlike perspective, bordering on innocently delusional. She returns to New Orleans in the other LA (Louisiana) from a dubiously successful, extended Los Angeles stay. She determines to make it in show biz despite her shortcomings, especially her physical location, her helicopter mom, and her employment-challenged best friends.

As a born-again script writer, Marlene's magnum opus BORN IN LA: DOLLS AND ALL captured judges' hearts in several contests. La Femme Film Fest, Houston Comedy Film Fest, Portland Comedy Film Fest, Script Summit (Action on Film Fest), and Palm Springs International Comedy Festival have bestowed finalist/nominee status on this semi-autobiographical script.

As a human being, Marlene loves dogs, especially her furry child star Blanche DuBois Sharp.
