Abbey McDonald is an Animator and Layout Artist from Ontario, Canada. She studied at Sheridan College's Bachelor of Animation program which she completed in April 2025.

Director Statement

My animated horror short Boo Bash is a love letter to vampires and the macabre. Growing up, I've always been a big fan of Halloween. The spooky atmosphere and nostalgia associated with it is highly inspiring for me. I rewatch Halloween classics like The Nightmare Before Christmas and - of course - Halloween, every single year and the anticipation building up to the holiday and everything that surrounds it has always filled me with a sense of whimsy and joy. I wanted to create a film which captures the mood I feel from my favourite holiday.
