International Social Change Film Festival
October 25, 2024
Honorable Mention
I'm passionate about films that promote social change. My first film 'Violin' is currently doing the festival run, and I have just finished my second short film 'Bonnie and Orville'!
'Bonnie and Orville' was created with the intention of bringing attention to the horrors of animal cruelty through a role reversal showing humans suffering the abuses that animals endure in real life. I found it interesting that many audience members asked me how the film is based on true events. This hesitation to recognise the film’s events as reflections of real-life practices shows just how hidden the realities of animal cruelty can be - and therefore the need to reveal them.
