Director Biography - Shahzad Mashayekhi

Shahzad Mashayekhi (born in 1997) is an independent director and animator with a Bachelor's degree in Television and Digital Arts (Animation major). She developed a passion for filmmaking during high school and began directing at an early age. Her focus is on abstract, experimental, and artistic styles, constantly pushing beyond conventional boundaries.
Her notable works include "The Borderline", "Unusual Illusion" and "Bonku" (winner of Silver award for the best experimental film in 13th Tehran International animation festival). While she has collaborated with animation studios in Tehran, she primarily pursues her career as an independent filmmaker, utilizing hand-drawn, stop-motion, and digital techniques.
Shahzad believes that art should be fearless, challenging norms, and presenting new perspectives to the world—without fear of judgment or failure—because nothing in this world is absolute.
