This motion picture is inspired by real events. Certain characters, incidents, and dialogue have been fictionalized for dramatic purposes.
“I watched your film twice. I’m always of the opinion that one time is to just watch; second time to evaluate. I also love true stories. You established that info right up front. So I enjoyed the true story aspect, making me a little partial.”

After years working in front of the camera, first as a pro-wrestler for WCW & WWE and then as an actor with over 50 film and television credits. Bishop Stevens transitioned into directing to tell grounded, character-driven stories inspired by real events. Drawing from hands-on experience as an actor and producer, his work focuses on authenticity, tension, and performances rooted in realism.
Blood in Baton Rouge was created to examine how assumptions, pressure, and misdirection can shape an investigation—and the irreversible consequences that follow. Inspired by true events surrounding multiple active killers in Baton Rouge, the film focuses not on sensationalism, but on the blind spots that allowed violence to continue unchecked.
As the co-writer and director, I chose to also step into the lead role to preserve a unified creative vision and ensure the story remained grounded in documented facts, court records, and community impact rather than myth or speculation.
This approach allowed the film to maintain restraint while still confronting uncomfortable questions about accountability and oversight. Blood in Baton Rouge is not an accusation—it is an examination. By presenting the events through a narrative lens, the film invites audiences to question how narratives are formed, how truth can be overlooked, and how justice can fail
when certainty replaces curiosity.
Volume 1 is the first of three films, following Derrick Todd Lee, Sean Vincent Gillis, and Jeffrey Lee Guillory as their paths crossed and simultaneously terrorized Baton Rouge between 1993–2004.
