Blessed and Highly Favored
Bendecidas y Afortunadas (Blessed and Highly Favored) is a half-hour queer comedy show about MILLIE -a fearless Venezuelan filmmaker determined to succeed in Hollywood despite a tiny handicap regarding her legal status- and HOPE -a formerly big shot Mexican writer with anxiety disorder- are two spoiled and confident immigrants with everything to succeed: impressive resumes, impeccable backgrounds and a dangerous combination of innocence and confidence. But when their destiny -and visas- are put on hold by Immigration Services, they decide to leave everything behind and take a cash-paid job on a Marijuana farm in Northern California.

MARIANNE AMELINCKX: Queer Venezuelan Filmmaker who ran away from communism and landed in Trump’s populism. Writer/director of Salta (Tribeca Film Festival 2017) and Vuela (Through Her Lens Finalist 2017). Her soul is split in two: she loves the nostalgia found in Indie dramas and the healing power of TV Comedy.
JULIETA MESSMER: Screenwriter, Costume Designer and a Creative Activist for women empowerment, immigrant rights and LGBTQ visibility in arts & entertainment. She once had Gwen Stefani scream "My shoe! My shoe!" while she was on the floor holding said object.
