Bleeding Blue: Behind The Badge. Under The Gun.

Bleeding Blue focuses on how America has fallen far from its Norman Rockwell view of cops as friendly neighborhood protectors. Narrated by Hollywood action hero Kevin Sorbo, with actual personal accounts of officers themselves. Bleeding Blue investigates the narrative that police are blood-thirsty villains patrolling our communities with the purpose of exacting an almost vigilante justice.

Director Statement

Bleeding Blue was inspired by the Ferguson riots. Our producers and their family lived only miles from the epicenter of what would become a social battlefield. In the aftermath, we created Bleeding Blue in an effort to save lives.

This film has many focuses. One undeniable focus is how much the streets beckon for young black men to succumb, leaving law enforcement to pick up the pieces. Bleeding Blue tackles the current cultural climate of law enforcement as it relates to the political environment. We reveal the truth from all sides from a perspective we feel has never been fully told.

Bleeding Blue provides an arc that mirrors the tragedy of the Michael Brown Jr story. We believe this parallel will help bridge the gap between the black community and the law enforcement officers who serve them.

In creating this film we flew into many urban “hot spots” where controversial police shootings occurred. We captured first-hand accounts of incidents from law enforcement officers. Facts, history, humor, tragedy, commitment and sacrifice are skillfully weaved into a full-feature documentary that takes the audience through an emotional journey, all the while educating about the truth of policing in America.

Bleeding Blue has been so much more than a project for us. As parents, we are honored to present what we hope is our inspirational point of view on an extraordinarily difficult subject. It’s been overwhelmingly satisfying to collaborate with The Black Sphere, and the many police departments across the US to create a profound cinematic experience. We are excited to share this film, and the message therein far and wide.
