Beyond the Broken Bottle is an experimental short that turns broken beach glass into something magical. I grew up collecting beach glass and thinking about the environmental impact of throwing glass into our bodies of water. While most people see this beach in Astoria, Queens as a trash pile, I see it as something that can be turned into art.
Beach glass is glass that has been thrown into a body of water and broken down over time so that it becomes smooth. My film, in an experimental manner, explores the idea of trash and treasure along with what we are really doing when we throw away glass.
