Jeff Barker is a screenwriter and host of the weekly podcast: The Screenplay Lab.
He is the GRAND PRIZE Winner of FADE IN's 2025 Horror Screenwriting Competition and a BLACK LIST RECOMMENDED WRITER.
His screenplays have been honored at numerous other film festivals and writing contests, including the Austin Film Festival, Stage 32, FILMMATIC, Los Angeles International, New York Horror Nights, ScreenCraft, Vail, Montreal International, PAGE Awards, Inroads, and Big Apple.
Previous to his full-time writing career, Jeff spent many years working as a provider in the field of psychiatry at a psych hospital. This expereince giving him firsthand insight into trauma, grief, and the silent damage families carry.
He blends that experience with his passion for grounded horror, exploring the dark spaces where love, guilt, and survival collide.
