Ben Lira: A Trainer's Perspective
This documentary is a story of Ben Lira, a veteran boxing trainer from South El Monte, CA. Lira is one of boxing's hidden gems, he's been a trainer in the boxing industry for over 50 years. Lira speaks about the hardships of training, the daily duties, what is expected of a trainer and the disadvantages of having a boxing career. Lira has trained many world champions, including Mexico's famous female boxer, Mariana Juarez. Lira is also the assist coach of unified World Champion, Gennady "GGG" Golovkin. Fellow boxing members give their take on Ben Lira and how his life as a trainer has impacted them and the sport.
