Director Statement

I’m fascinated by watching small dogs show no sense of their actual size and taking it upon themselves to bark ferociously at large dogs that could eat them for breakfast. This placed an image in my mind - a small dinosaur roaring at a large tyrannosaurus rex. What would happen next? This evolved into a tale of outer strength versus inner strength... and of berries that make dinosaurs fart and burp. What evolves is an unlikely friendship.
It took me some experimenting before I settled on the look of the film. The background elements are hand-drawn with coloured markers. The characters are animated in a digital paper cutout style. Although the film was animated on a computer I was keen to employ an organic stop-motion aesthetic.
