BEHOLDER
Beholder was a passion project spurred from quarantine isolation. It's a stroll through years of production and editing room floor cuts, collected and catalogued. It's a curation of carefully selected shots the filmmaker very personally feels has value greater than simply the sum of its parts. Accidental themes and perspectives begin to emerge as the clips fall along a melodic timeline. It is the short filmmaker's low-budget homage to experimental icons Godfrey Reggio and Ron Fricke, and films like Visitors, Koyaanisqatsi, and Samsara.

Special Jury Award
Wes Thompson is the owner of the Whiskey Tango Creative Group advertising agency, based in Ashland, Ky. This is Wes' first short film since 2002, when he won "Best Local Filmmaker" at the Split Screen Film Festival in Lexington, Ky, USA. for his digital short "The Making of 86'ed." Wes is the father of two daughters, Madelynn (11) and Avery (9), and is happily married to his wife of 10 years, Melanie.
I've now watched it close to 200 times and find something new I love about it after each viewing. I hope someone else can find the beauty and universal themes in it, I do. Thank you for your consideration.
