Maulana Ghiffari (Indonesia, Born: October 12, 2001) is a young filmmaker who graduated from the school of media production management at Padjadjaran University.
Born in Serang, Banten, all his life he always liked movies, he always watch movies, his interest in filmmaking has grown since he was in high school, and finally began to be channeled at the beginning of his college era with him and his friends making a production house named ‘Eyessence’ Initially focused on documenting campus events through after-movies.
Up to now, he has worked on 7 short films project where he took several role such as writer, director, cinematographer, editor. Most recently, his mockumentary short film under Eyessence, "Behind, Behind The Scenes: How To Take a Shoot?", where he took on multiple roles as Writer, Director, DoP, and Colorist.
In his cinematic approach, Ghiffari is drawn to exploring the absurdity of everyday life, human psychology, and social critique, all executed in a distinctive/unique style. His works blend realism with surreal elements, creating experiences that are both visually striking and emotionally. Right now he is currently developing a screenplay for his next film.
"Behind, Behind The Scenes: How To Take A Shoot?" is my fifth short film as a director and third as a writer-director. A meta film with the drama-suspense genre and presented in a mockumentary style, what we try to bring here is this serious issue that some how it still being unseen in most society: the emotional violence. We explore what happens behind the scenes of stories we see in every day—in this film we take a case in love stories, work environmet, and what really happened in (scenes) reality.
the film tagline is “what really goes behind (the scenes) what we’ve seen”.
Emotional violence isn't always easy to spot because it doesn't leave physical scars. But it can really hurt people inside. Our messages with this film is to make people more aware of this issue, which is often ignored. In here we show the audience the indicators, how it starts, how it progresses, and how it affects.
Through different scenes and symbols, we hope to start conversations and help people understand and support those who are going through emotional abuse, and with this unique takes—Behind, Behind The Scenes: How To Take A Shoot?" is meant to dive viewers into the film story and make people think and hopefully make a difference in how we treat each other.
