Behind-the-scenes of "Psychagog"
Behind-the-scenes of "Psychagog"
The making of "Psychagog" took place in challenging mountain locations, utilizing special equipment to film in extreme conditions. A unique feature of all my projects is the involvement of children without professional acting experience, which allows for the capture of genuine, raw emotions, creating a deeper connection with the audience.
The film is shot in 18 minutes out of 52. It tells the story of a girl named Alina, an orphan raised in an orphanage. In the pre-war years, she lives with hope and belief in a bright future: an excellent student who has completed rifle and medical training, she symbolizes youthful determination and sincerity. However, with the arrival of the war, Alina’s world is shattered. She must face the horrors of combat, both physical and emotional trials, while preserving her humanity and inner light.
"Psychagog" explores the theme of psychological maturation against the backdrop of war, using Alina's character as a generalized symbol of the generation that endured the tragedies of the 20th century.
