Experiencing Interruptions?

Bar Singer

Bar singer, Nick, who is a ghost lingering in his past glorious memories of his music career and romances, now performs in a small bar for a living after being forgotten by the public, until he finds his cynical beliefs of love and relationships being challenged by a girl customer who failed in dating different men in the bar he performs. The girl's perception of dating phenomenons about avoidance of commitments and her courage to find her true one even after her multiple failures during her journey ignite Nick's hope of moving on from his past.

Director Statement

I originally wanna create a story about modern dating culture and the values behind it: the anxiety of modern civilians and the paradox of eagerness for a companion but fear of commitment. People experience bad dates frequently: the fast pace of the usage of dating apps lets people think that they will always find a better next one, instead of paying attention to their current relationship. I always want to incorporate music into my work, so I try to tell the story from a bar singer's perspective. Nick is an observer, but also the main character of his own "failed relationship". We are always calm when we are the observer. But can we solve our problem if we are in the game?
