“Bank nasion / Bank of seeds” (2015)

Short documentary about the artistic project of Cristiana Santos.

Bank Nasion is a community based project that focus on the collection and free sharing of seeds. We are collecting seeds from local gardeners and farmers that have been saving it from their crops along generations, with no chemicals or genetic modification. Over the past decades, over 90 % of the world biodiversity was lost and forgotten in industrial agriculture’s race for productivity. Today there are being discussed laws that forbid the free sharing and use of seeds, giving to the hand of big corporations the control of our seeds and food. Our mobile bank nasion is traveling through Rodzinny Ogrod Dzialkowy (urban gardens) to inspire people to start to save their own seeds, get more resilient, sustainable and make our network bigger.
