Bakit Tumitigil Ang Elevator?
To exit the realm of the afterlife, souls must leave all their baggage at the Laya Area. Through the elevator, each passenger has their predestined location to go to, and they will be accompanied by an elevator operator. Jackie, an aspiring-yet-never-even-get-to-write writer, chose to stay in the afterlife to assist fellow souls. Meeting people of various backgrounds, she listened to their stories and seeks to find peace in knowing what comes next after her life ended without even achieving anything she ever dreamed of. Will an unsettled soul choose to cross over her rightful destination?

His short film Bakit Tumitigil ang Elevator? has gained critical acclaim and received awards and recognition in various film competitions both locally and internationally. The film has also been showcased on prestigious platforms, including the Film Development Council of the Philippines Cinematheque's JuanFlix streaming service and Cinemata.org.
Ron’s work reflects his deep commitment to crafting authentic narratives that resonate with audiences and provide profound insights into the human experience. Through his films, he aims to inspire reflection and appreciation for life's complexities while championing Filipino cinema on a global stage.
The creation of this film was sparked by a single idea - a tight location with multiple stories. The concept of the afterlife has been part of the Filipino beliefs, and its vague visualization became an integral ground for the production's imagination. Through Jackie, we wanted to show a perspective less talked about, of those whose life ended when they haven't started anything yet. She is also a symbol of chances for uncertain conclusions in life.
