Director Biography - Aki Red

Aki Red is a 23-year old filmmaker from the Philippines who seeks to further hone his skills in storytelling and other visual arts. He has a strong passion for using film as a medium to shape the way the society works, and to provide the moviegoing audience unique stories that cater to the human experience. His 2021 experimental short film 'Photocopied Distance' was part of the official selection at the 34th Gawad CCP Para sa Alternatibo Pelikula at Video. His 2019 short film 'Lilipad na si Birdie' won the top prize in the 19-to-21-years-old category at the 3rd Manila Student Film festival (MSFF) hosted by the International School Manila, and the Bronze Award at Adamson University's "REALIFILM 2019: All Sacrifices for Passion. His 2020 experimental short film 'Signal Notice' won "Best in Sound Design" at the 8th Nabunturan Film Exhibition in Davao De Oro. His 2021 short film 'Safety Shots' won the Silver Award at Adamson University's "REALIFILM 2022 Go Overboard: Withstand Obstacles of Disarray." His 2021 documentary film 'Spacebound' was recognized as the "Second Runner Up" at the 2022 Ateneo Video Open.
