ACT ONE: MEET-CUTE TURNS CRIMINAL
JENN SULLIVAN, a broke Black freelance reporter living in an RV with her stepfather Matt, obsessively chases the "Bubble Gum Bandit" for her big break. With only $12.95 in her account, she needs viral footage to survive. While streaming from Santa Monica bluffs, she witnesses EAMON MURPHY, a charming Irish grifter, defend his squirrel friend Sam against a careless driver. When Eamon's accomplice and dying brother CHRIS pulls up in a van, Jenn realizes she's livestreaming the actual bandit—and captures the perfect viral moment as Eamon escapes.
Eamon's Irish charm and cocky grin immediately captivate Jenn. Instead of turning him in, she agrees to an exclusive interview with the Bubble Gum Bandits, using AI voice disguise to protect their identities. Over coffee, Eamon reveals Chris needs a double lung transplant worth millions. Jenn finds herself drawn to both his charm and his desperate cause. When Eamon offers her an exclusive live interview at a casino, she can't resist.
ACT TWO: LOVE & HEISTS
At the Hollywood Casino, Eamon orchestrates an elaborate con while simultaneously courting Jenn. He wins $150,000 at craps, enchanting her with his confidence and generosity. When FBI Agent DOOLITTLE—Jenn's corrupt ex—corners her, she realizes Doolittle has been using her as bait. Eamon escapes via the bathroom vents with casino chips while Jenn, betrayed by both men, questions her priorities.
Despite her reservations, Jenn and Eamon's chemistry ignites. They paddle-board in Malibu (he can't swim), share intimate moments, and she teaches him about her Irish heritage. Their relationship deepens as Eamon plans increasingly ambitious heists.
The turning point arrives when Doolittle approaches Eamon with a corrupt proposal: steal $100 million from FBI headquarters in exchange for 30% of the take. Doolittle provides blueprints, vault combinations, and security codes. Eamon accepts—seeing it as their only path to save Chris's life. He recruits Jenn to impersonate Doolittle's superior, making her an accomplice.
During a trial run at the FBI building, everything works perfectly. The heist is feasible. But a tragic intervention complicates everything: while helping burn victims, Eamon nearly loses Chris to oxygen deprivation. Jenn performs CPR, and Eamon is reminded that time is running out.
ACT THREE: THE HEIST & HEARTBREAK
The FBI heist executes flawlessly. Jenn impersonates Doolittle's boss, while Chris—disguised as a rookie—drives the money van. Eamon remotely disables security cameras and utilities, leaving Agents 1 and 2 trapped in a malfunctioning vault (blaming Doolittle). The $100 million is loaded into the van.
As Chris suffers a medical emergency en route, Eamon and Jenn save his life once more. The money is sent via FedEx to Havana, where Chris can escape to a country with no extradition treaty.
At LAX, Jenn and Eamon share a bittersweet goodbye. She's achieved her dream—promoted to news anchor at WTTV—while he must flee to Cuba. He promises a Zoom interview. Doolittle nearly catches them, but Jenn cleverly redirects ICE agents toward him, creating chaos.
Six months later, at El Floridita bar in Havana, a depressed Eamon watches Jenn's news broadcast about Doolittle's arrest. Chris sees a mysterious woman at the bar's entrance and taps Eamon's shoulder. It's Jenn—she quit her anchor job to be with him. They kiss as the bar erupts in celebration. Eamon proposes; Jenn accepts engagement instead of marriage (keeping her independence). Sam emerges from Eamon's coat and kisses Jenn, sealing their chaotic, criminal, romantic destiny.
Meanwhile, Doolittle rots in jail, screaming about the $3.3 million in counterfeit bills Eamon left him—outwitted by the very man he betrayed.
