Director Biography - Leonid Leontev

During my studies at faculty of philosophy I found myself being carried away by photography which eventually became my profession. After ten years of working as photojournalist and then a commercial photographer I wanted to try myself as a creator of "motion pictures". For me, the main value of any image is that it is a document representing a certain epoch, an imprint of history. While hanging around in book stores, I preferred "world press photos" to fashion related pictures. Every esthetic form has to contain meaning. This is why I decided to begin my journey in cinematography from creating documentaries.
