Director Biography - Oliver Hill

Oliver Hill was born in New York to a Spanish mother and an American father. Raised between the US and Spain, the beaches and cultural patchwork of Latin America and the Caribbean beckoned from an early age. After graduating from Cornell University with a bachelor's degree in development economics and life sciences, Oliver attended Columbia University's Graduate School of Journalism, where he earned a master's degree in broadcast journalism. Oliver has explored the theme of identity among people of Latin America and the Caribbean in his three films. Director Statement

I am proud to have produced this film about a critical program that gave a lifeline to thousands of young Jamaicans between 2000 and 2020, steering them away from crime and violence through educational scholarships, vocational skills training and remedial justice.
