Black Savior

Black Savior was cocreated by writer, creative producer and lead actor Kwaku Ankomah and writer, director Johannes Krug as Johannes' diploma film at Filmacademy Baden-Wuerttemberg. The short serves as a proof of concept testimonial for a series concept.

Biography Kwaku Ankomah

Kwaku Ankomah attended the 3 year acting course at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA) and has worked as an actor for television, film, radio and theatre in the UK, Ghana and worldwide. Some credits include Batman Begins', Beasts of No Nation, Ultimate Force, Cargo, The Cursed Ones. In 2009, he founded an acting school in Ghana, later purchasing a separate franchise for a drama academy to help young people build up confidence, speech, and language skills through the use of drama. Kwaku ran a handful of creative companies in Ghana, including Kasa Mfoni, a creative arts & networking organisation that showcases people working in Africa and the diaspora in film, theatre and other creative arts. Kwaku is a private acting coach for Film and Theatre. He has a great passion for screen and stage and recently worked as a freelance producer for the British stage play, ‘The Hamlet Voyage’, written by Rex Obano. As a director and producer of audio drama, he has worked on an anthology of Ghanaian short stories called Kenkey for Ewes and other very short stories, as well as directing RADA 3rd year actors in an adapted version of the radio play ‘Under Milk Wood’ by Dylan Thomas. He is an advisory board member for the Blackstar International Film Festival (BSIFF) in Ghana. Kwaku continues and loves to act; with ‘Black Savior’ being his first co-creation, co-written, creative produced, screen work. He is also the lead actor in the film.

Biography Johannes Krug

Johannes Krug is an award-winning aspiring German filmmaker. After a year abroad in Ghana and a Bachelor in Audiovisual Media at Stuttgart Media University, he studied Directing, specializing in documentary films at the renowned Filmacademy Baden-Wuerttemberg in Ludwigsburg. His documentary focus also impacts the way he writes and directs his fictional films. He is married to the Ghanaian educationist Irene Selorm Krug. In 2019 his Ghanaian pilot DIVINE419 was awarded the 'Baden-Württembergischer Filmpreis' among others.
