BE(E) the HIVE
A woman dances out the fury of the violence endured by women across the globe. Traumas that lead to silence and loneliness, through shame, loss of confidence and the devaluation of their gender.
But these women’s rebirth is finally being expressed.
It is through the group, the collective, mutual support and sisterhood that everything becomes possible.
They discover their power and their freedom, and the hive takes flight.
French Sign Language is one of the choreographic languages used in this film. The precise gestures speak to all deaf and hard-of-hearing women, and also reveal the power of signs, such as the hand signal for help.
53 women, dancers, both amateur and professional, joined this project to defend women's rights worldwide and highlight the strength of female solidarity and the power of collective action.
Let's unite!
Let's stand together!
Let's be the Hive !

I am a multidisciplinary artist: a dancer, choreographer and filmmaker. I am an artist committed to human rights and the preservation of life. I have directed several short films, including LIBERTY in support of Iranian women and METAMORPHOSE for women’s empowerment. Cinema and filmmaking are a powerful way of sharing values with people everywhere, both locally and internationally.
As a former journalist and geographer, I use my knowledge and skills in these fields to make life and humanity visible. According to recent studies, almost all women have experienced gender-based violence. Given the global situation regarding women's rights, it has become essential for me to commit to supporting them. Women who are victims of violence are often isolated, ashamed of what they have endured, and no longer dare to speak out. I am appalled by this catastrophic situation, which is only worsening; women continue to be humiliated, mistreated, assaulted, killed, and subjected to lifelong restrictions. Through this film, I want to send a message to all women around the world: that they are not alone, that they can find help, comfort, and support by turning to other women, by participating in collective action, and by supporting one another. This is just one act of the hummingbird, but it should not be ignored; every attempt to help women around the world is an act which, through its multiplicity and collective action, will hopefully allow women to be considered on an equal footing with men.
