AuntyLand Film Festival (ALFF) brings diverse artists and audiences together to celebrate storytelling in all its forms. Plan your Women's History Month with us where we traditionally celebrate International Women's Day, on March 8, and screen films throughout the year.
We are the only women and BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color) film festival to champion Elders, especially women over 50. Our programs are inspired by the spirit and values of New York City's diverse cultures. Founded during the Covid19 pandemic, ALFF is excited to screen and promote independent Short films, 20 minutes or less.
Originally launched as a digital event, the Festival offers in-person events and collaborates with businesses and organizations to offer community programs such as panels, film screenings, live performances, and food & culture. The exact dates, venue, and in-person event structure are all subject to change based on the realities of producing a Covid19-safe event.
Auntyland, a multidisciplinary platform, is the mothership that features the film festival, Real Aunties Day holiday, a blog, and updates.

A distinguished Selections Committee of professional creatives and global audience participation in social media voting elections will select films for a variety of cash awards.
Categories and themes are wide-ranging and may include Narratives on Families, Communities, Society, Culture, Romance, Documentary, Animations, Experimental, Comedy, Food/Cooking, Gardening, Home, Pet/Animals, Environment, Climate Change / Sustainability, 'Made in New York,' 'Only in New York' stories, and LGBTQ themes.
