Film is an art form unlike any other. It can record events, take you on adventures, inspire you, and even teach you about life itself, all through stories! Its power amazes me, and I feel honored to have the chance to be a part of it.
I am a senior at UNC Charlotte studying computer science, but taking as many film classes as possible. I have an interest in science, but I have a passion for film. I love seeing how things look through a screen, how I can make them look and feel. Film is such an amazing, artful way for humans to communicate.
My film professors at UNC Charlotte showed me the opportunities that were out there, and they were so welcoming and encouraging to get involved in the world of film.
With my first short film project, I opened up about my experience with alopecia, an autoimmune disease I have had since I was 13. It was painfully personal, but it showed an experience that I couldn't really explain to anyone. And that is what really draws me to love film. You don't even have to use dialogue, just story, and people can still feel it, experience it. It is a human connection, and I think it is absolutely beautiful.
It has been an amazing experience. I am learning and enjoying every step of the way. (:
