Victor Moreno (b. 1975) began his career contributing to various international media outlets, conducting interviews and capturing images of renowned artists, filmmakers, and musicians. In 2006, he relocated to Stockholm. Moreno served as an artist-in-residence at the Swedish Center for Electroacoustic Music, Elektronmusikstudion (EMS), while collaborating on commercial productions with renowned studios, including the Swedish Film Institute.
Moreno holds degrees in Philosophy and English Literature from Stockholm University and attended the Creative Writing and Poetry workshop at Boston University, led by acclaimed American poet and essayist Robert Pinsky. His debut narrative short film, Ascend All Night (2024), delves into finding solace amid the monotony of modern life. Directed and produced on a zero budget using his 35mm camera and personal equipment, Moreno also composed the film’s evocative score, seamlessly blending music and narrative to blur the lines between traditional filmmaking and the artistry of a music video.
This experimental shirt film project gained recognition on the international film festival circuit, screening at the Seattle Film Festival and the French Riviera Film Festival in Cannes. This success inspired Moreno to embark on his second short film, this time supported by a script and international partnerships, marking a new chapter in his creative journey.
