As if the last time
"This is a story about something that fades out. This
is a movie about the game from the past. Back
then, when I was a child, the tables for playing
Domino were in every Moscow yard. And every evening there used
to be earnest passions running high around them.
A distinctive sound of chips knocking on the table,
as the cadence of an old-fashioned clock, counted
out the Soviet time.
And now, in the year 2017, I accidentally
discovered this island of the past in the Moscow
district of Rostokino. The feeling was as if I had
found a "Lost World"...
The film was re-edited in 2025. Much has changed in Russia's social life, and many players have passed away. RIP

A short biography of the film Director Maxim Smirnov: Born in 1978 in Moscow. In 2000 he graduated from Moscow state University with diploma of the Director of theatrical performances. In 2001 he moved to Nizhny Tagil, worked in the specialty in the Palace of culture. In 2004 he started to work in video production. Upon returning to Moscow he worked in TV "Moscow", KHL TV, "Lifenews". Collaborated with the Studio of documentary films of Andrei Shemyakin. Today is an independent author and documentarian.
