Anita, a strong willed and independent chef on the rise in the city, meets Mayank, an asperger-y super-dork with a lovable charm. And by meet, we mean Mayank lets himself into her apartment and waits by her bed until she wake’s up! It’s okay though because it’s Mayank. He’s harmless. Mayank and Anita’s parents are very on board with the arrangement but Anita is not at all ready to give up her wonderful life and settle for someone she doesn’t love. Maybe she’d end up with Mick, her not-a-complete douche bag boyfriend, if she had more time. Through a series of events, we find out that Mayank is gay and actually wants to marry Anita because he can’t tell his parents and wants to continue his relationship with his boyfriend, Pietier. Anita also finds out she needs Mayank because her if she doesn’t get married her parents will take away her inheritance and with that she won’t be able to open her own restaurant. They both decide to take the plunge since it’s mutually beneficial although straight up crazy and we see the beginning of a ridiculous “Will and Grace” type friendship ensue in this odd couple comedy.
