A robin in the room
An essay film starring an off-screen narrator who, one sleepless night, gradually encounters the nostalgia of a past love relationship. His inability to fall asleep is the vehicle that invites us to a journey through liminal and nocturnal spaces of Buenos Aires, crossed by fragmented scenes of everyday life. A bird, the copy of a famous painting and the memories of that bond will be entangled between the sordidness, the emptiness and the feeling of unreality to remain continuously awake.

A Robin in the Room is a video essay with an off-screen narrator who, one sleepless night, comes face-to-face with the nostalgia of a past love relationship.
For me it is very important to have gone through the problem of insomnia and to be able to express it in this film. The narrator, as he says in the film, is there, but at the same time he is not. This is a common issue associated with sleep deprivation. It causes individuals to experience a loss of focus and an inability to accurately perceive your surroundings. One's existence unfolds within the confines of a parallel universe, obscured from the perception of conventional reality.
The description of insomnia in a poetic and detailed way, invites us to hop on a journey through the mysterious and nocturnal spaces of Buenos Aires, accompanied by glimpses of everyday life that feel like a dream. A journey through time, sensory memory and intimacy that proposes the sordidness of nocturnality.
