"I haven't been feeling very well lately. Not really well at all actually... I've actually been doing really poorly..."
I was on a stand-up stage in front of about 100 people a few weeks ago and I really tried to drag out the above quotation as long as I could. "No, like actually, I haven't been feeling well about myself at all recently. Like it's actually really bad." And then you just soak in the awkwardness. I always internally cracked up at the idea of standing up there and, instead of telling jokes, just started opening up about how poorly your life was going. After I thought about it a little more, I figured, why does it even have to happen on a stage? The idea for "Armchair Homosapien" came just about that quickly. It was as simple as taking my stand-up set to the street and seeing how people reacted. I have no grand agenda with this film except to make people laugh - if I've made it that far, I consider it a success.
What's the deal with the Catholic Church, anyway?
