Director Statement

Less is more in this beautiful short film made with two people in front of the camera and two people behind it. Literally, shot with a crew of 4 people, this is as bare bones a film-making experience as it can be.

ABOUT THE FILM:
'Love is listening' - this has been one of my fundamental beliefs. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we have been locked in our homes since March 2020 and these 6 months have brought us much closer as a family. It has given us time to listen to each other more.

The two brothers in this story could stand as a metaphor for any two entities: nations, communities, large corporations. All that is required for harmony between two parties is LISTENING & COMMUNICATION.

It was written by my wife, Ulka, and features my two sons, Aravir and Abhisar. I shot it at home over 7 sunsets with no lighting, camera rigs or crew. Making this film was a liberating experience as it made me realize that you really need very little to tell a good story.
