Director Statement

Apa's Girl is a tender story about a daughter, her family, her denial and the unwavering love for her father. Alex works so hard and doesn't see what's happening right in front of her, perhaps because love blinds us that way when it's about our moms and dads. Our first hero, the ones we hope will always be there to guide us or at least help us remember when we were innocent and brave. Based on a late night conversation with my ailing father, this film will remind audiences why to never take advantage of the limited time we have with our elders.
