Antika
The shortfilm titled “Antika” gives us an insider into the life of a young man, who is living under the care of his fosterparents in Vojvodina, Serbia. Antal Puhalák spent his childhood on the streets. First he spent his days begging, later he was doing seasonal work. He is living with multiple disadvantages. He has severe dyslexia and dysgraphy, he never learned how to write or read, nor does he know the numbers. Despite all of this, he still loves poems, in them he finds peace. For many years now he has been under the protection of the “Izida Mother- and Childprotecting Organisation” in Feketic, Serbia, where they have been teaching him how to recite poems after hearing them out loud. He is trying to forget his old family and sees his future in the opportunity of having a new one.
