Director Statement

Shakespeare’s name is universally recognized, yet behind his towering legacy stands a woman often overshadowed—Anne Hathaway. This documentary is my attempt to uncover the untold story of Anne’s influence and the women who shaped Shakespeare’s world.

As a storyteller and vlogger, I wanted to create a film that is both cinematic and deeply personal—a journey through Stratford-upon-Avon, where Shakespeare lived, loved, and ultimately found his final resting place. I aimed to blend historical facts, modern interpretations, and cultural connections—even drawing parallels to Bollywood’s Haider, a Shakespearean adaptation that transcends borders.

The film is not just about Shakespeare; it’s about the women behind the legacy—those who preserved his work, inspired his characters, and kept his influence alive for centuries. Through this documentary, I hope to spark curiosity and invite viewers to see Shakespeare’s story through a new lens—one where Anne Hathaway’s presence is no longer in the shadows.

I hope this film resonates with audiences and adds a fresh perspective to Shakespeare’s ever-evolving legacy.
