In the year A.D. 301, Armenia became the first and only nation to adopt Christianity as the official religion of the state. During the following decades, this new-found faith posed a growing threat to the neighboring pagan Persian Empire. In 365, the emperor Shapur is determined to bring about the annihilation of the Armenian nation. At this pivotal moment in history, the naïve noble Armenian warrior, SAMUEL, belonging to the Mamikonian dynasty, is compelled to forgo the woman he loves, ASHREN, and sacrifice his life for the survival of his nation. As the drama unfolds, Samuel discovers that his own parents are traitors. To save his country, he must defeat them. However, in order for him to be ready for the task, he must go through a personal transformation by experiencing death. After a journey through hell and then heaven, the once timid Samuel has now become a fearless warrior -- ready to defeat anyone who stands in the way of his nation's survival. Inspired by a true story, The First Nation is a war epic, depicting the incomparable defiance of a small nation against a mighty empire and how this fight changed the whole course of history. It is a tale of true faith, unyielding love, insurmountable odds, and unwavering heroism.
