Cultural currency is a big part of the type of work I create. I love to fuse comedy into the beauty and specificity of the black American culture. It's always a blessing when it can bring a smile to all cultures, without being watered down and without distasteful self mocking. This piece is simply humorous because it's true. I also find it particularly interesting how, across the country, black Americans have many of the same mannerisms, without even knowing it.
