Director Biography - Ruby Vincent

Ruby Vincent is a young māori filmmaker who grew up in New Zealand around film industry creatives. She wrote and directed her first short film, "Amy John & Jiu Jitsu Dave", in 2023 at the age of 17. Now, at 18 she has recently finished high school and began a job as an Art Department Assistant on a major New Zealand production. She intends to pursue a career in writing and directing, fulfilling a love for film and storytelling.

I hope that this film can funnily amplify some mundane aspects of teenagehood and allow the watcher a window into these characters strange lives. I hope it's satisfying and familiar in some way.
