Experiencing Interruptions?

Alter ego

This is a story of two Polish outsider artists who live in contemporary Cracow: based on participant observation and ethnographic interviews carried out in 2021 and 2022.

Both artists exhibit their works in public space. One of them, Pior Jargusz, uses city columns designed for advertising in order to present his works there: his aim is to refurnish the city of Cracow with the afterimages of his own memories.

The other one, Angelika Wojas, uses spray on canvas in order to make her confessional banners which she hangs on fences and railings. Her aim is to recreate public space with narratives concerning women's privacy and intimacy.
