All Quiet On The Westlake

The film records the story of the blind and deaf couple seeking medical treatment. In the face of various difficulties in reality, the two "use love to repair physical deformities" and jointly maintain each other between light and dark.
Most of the scenes in this film were shot during the 2023 Asian Games in Hangzhou. In that period of rapid socio-economic development and urban construction, there were always some forgotten individuals, and "recording those people" was my original motivation for making this film.
I am also intrigued by sign language. If humans once used a unified language, it might have been sign language. As the oldest form of communication, sign language may have been the common language spoken before the collapse of the “Tower of Babel”. In today's fast-paced Hangzhou, some are inevitably left behind. In this ever-flowing river of time, a documentary stands as a testament to time itself.

Director Biography

魏子硕，男，1996年出生于北京，现在中国美术学院电影学院就读研究生。
曾任导演、编剧，摄影、制片。先后制作短片《西北无战事》《山羊山》《蜃景》《暖光》《江河》《喃喃》《夜戏》等，入围中国金鸡青年短片奖、杭州金荷奖、罗马独立电影奖、巴黎戏剧电影节、孟加拉国全球青年电影节、伊拉克 Al-Nahj 国际电影节人道主义奖等多个国际电影节。
在电影《出发》中，担任特技摄影师、航拍摄影师。在电影《雨落屋瓦》中，担任纪录片摄影师。
参与纪录片《天生反骨》《嘉定八百年》，导演纪录片《此处无声》入围苏格兰电影学院&CNEX杭州故事工作坊。

Wei Zishuo, male, born in Beijing in 1996, is now a postgraduate student in the film College of The China Academy of Art.
He was a director, screenwriter, photographer and producer. He has produced short films such as "no war in the northwest", "goat mountain", "mirage", "warm light", "rivers", "murmur", "night play" and so on. He was shortlisted for the China Golden Rooster youth short film award, Hangzhou Golden Lotus Award, Rome independent film award, Paris Drama Film Festival, Bangladesh Global Youth Film Festival, Iraq Al-Nahj International Film Festival Humanitarian Award and many other international film festivals.
He served as a stunt photographer and aerial photographer in the movie "departure.". He worked as a documentary photographer in the movie "rain falling house tile".
Participated in the documentary "born anti bone" and "eight hundred years of Jiading", and the director documentary "silent here" was shortlisted in the Scotland Film Academy &CNEX Hangzhou story workshop.
