Alix Austin is an award-winning Director/Producer, focusing on diversity driven narrative films. Initially training as an Actress at The Royal Conservatoire of Scotland (formerly RSAMD), she soon found her love for working behind the camera, as well as in front of it.
She comes from a mixed European background, born in England, raised in Switzerland, speaking both English and German fluently. She has directed and produced music videos and short films including Best Film winning #conniesflat and Raindance shortlisted Webseries Jess & Tess Solve Shit.
In 2016 she directed True Value, which was funded by the Bruce Millar Trust, starring Red Madrell (Kidulthood, Skins), which screened at the BFI Women of the World and Underwire Festival.
She most recently produced RETCH, a short horror film which toured 30 festivals, including Brussels International Fantastic Film Festival, winning Best Horror Short at Cinefantasy in Brazil and celebrated it's online premiere on www.watchalter.com
Next up is 'Portrait' a cutting short about inappropriate behaviour in the photography industry, having won support and funding from Genera Films, produced by her production company Hydraholix Productions.
