As a deaf or hearing-impaired person, it is often difficult to cope with everyday situations. We often encounter a lack of understanding and discrimination with our handicap. Just as blindness removes us from objects, our deafness removes us from people. The film reflects this discrepancy in impressive, metaphorical images and shows us the cochlear implant as a solution, which really opened up a whole new world of hearing, connectedness and understanding for me.
Special thanks to the support from MedEL (not the manufacturer of my specific devices, but super awesome partner to collaborate with! In the end they saw the potential in VR animation and at the same time the need of a voice for the hearing-impaired community.

We always like to visit new festivals in person for a Q&A.
