Ali Murat Günay was born in 1972 in Çanakkale. Video and photography curiosity started in 1987. He worked on editing, animation and graphic design in Istanbul in the 1998s. He moved to İzmir in 2004 and continued to work on cinematography, photography and digital editing. He has produced many documentaries, short films, TV series, music videos, commercials and corporate promotional films since 1987. This curiosity, which he started by taking photographs, provided integrity with the experience of camera and then editing.
He established his own Film Company in Muğla, where he settled in 2012, and received a "Cinema Producer Certificate". In 2015, he started to study at Anadolu University Photography and Videography Department. He gave training on photography, camera and video editing at many official institutions, Municipalities, International Youth Centers, Public Education Centers, Izmir University of Economics, Izmir Gediz University and Muğla Sıtkı Koçman Vocational School. He decided to use this knowledge and experience to make feature films and documentaries. In 2017, with the support of the Ministry of Culture, he completed and registered his biographical documentary called "I Lived With My Books". He provided cinematography, editing and production support for the "Ayak İzleri" program, prepared and presented by Rıfat Çığ, broadcast on İZ TV documentary channel broadcasting on DIGITURK Platform between 2018 and 2019. In 2020, he started shooting documentary named "Milas Carpets" and "Silkworm and Weaving". He organized many events in the field of cinema and photography at MUSFOD (Muğla Cinema and Photography Art Association), which he founded in Muğla in 2016. He is still the Chairman of the Board of the Association.
