Director Biography - Marco Pinnavaia

Marco Pinnavaia was born in Milano under Libra's costellation. They call him Vinz. From ’93 he writes stories in Cusano Milanino, Lyon, Paris and Roma. His first novel, a wester titled "Puerto de Luna", was published in 2018.Now he makes cinema with its companions of the collective Chuormo. Dreamland – La verité sur l’affaire “Convoi de la Liberté” is his first long movie. Between a film and another he keeps on searching in the Universe…

Director Statement

"Aleph" is an experimental documentary about a travel in Israel on March 2023. Through the lens of Borges2 short story "The Aleph", the first letter of the jewish alphabet symbolize a point where the whole Universe can be seen. Thus our travel is driven both on a vertical axis with the quest for spirituality (Israel is the saced land for Judaism, Christianity and Islam) and on the orizontal axis through the speaks of the people we meet along the road. Readings from the Bible, the Holy Gospels and the Curan will be our guides during the journey in this country, trying to think about the questions which always interested mankind: which is the sense of life? why am I here? who am I? how can I love my neighbour as myself?
