Eliciana Nascimento is an award-winning filmmaker and a tenure track assistant professor in cinematography and film production at Arizona State University. Her short film, The Summer of Gods, premiered at the Cannes Film Festival in 2014 and received several awards from a variety of international film festivals. She directed and edited the short documentaries Nurse Helen Fairchild, and Arlene B. Duerk - The First Woman Admiral, and is currently in the making of a feature documentary titled Oshun - The Goddess of Life.
Nascimento's passion as a filmmaker is to tell untold stories about underrepresented audiences and to spark thoughtful conversations that bring communities together.
