After Party

After Party is a story about Clara, a sober young woman stuck in an intense morning afterparty at her own apartment. While her friends are diving into drugs, alcohol, and chaos, Clara feels completely disconnected from the scene and from them. When a strange purple powder shows up, the atmosphere gets darker and heavier. Trying to escape, Clara steps outside for air, where a meaningful conversation gives her a glimpse of something real. But as the party spirals,a sudden scream pulls her back inside, forcing her to face the dangerous consequences of a night gone too far.

Director Statement

This film is deeply personal. It stems from my own experiences navigating nightlife, where afterparties and substance use were once part of my identity. Choosing sobriety made me realize how much alcohol and drugs are ingrained in how we socialize—and how alienating it can feel to step away from that. After Party is my way of capturing that tension: the loneliness, the disconnection, but also the clarity that comes with seeing things from the outside. This is my debut film, and I also composed the music to bring a dark, hypnotic techno sound to Clara’s experience.
