Director Biography - Abbas Imani

Abbas Imani was born on July 30, 1990. He has appeared as an actor in films such as The Warden, Zero Day, The Bee Nest, The Grassland, and in TV series including The Fugitive, Rebel, Antenna, They, Your Excellency, and others.
Abbas Imani is also active in the field of theater and has participated as a writer, director, and actor in plays such as The Good Doctor, Uncle Vanya, The Bald Soprano, and The Substitute. The play The Good Doctor, based on works by Neil Simon and Anton Chekhov, was staged in 2022 and performed by the students of the Haftak Honar Cinema Academy.

Abbas Imani has also acted in short films such as Parallel World and Mr. Babak’s Family, which are part of his artistic portfolio.
By appearing in a variety of works and portraying diverse roles, Abbas Imani has managed to establish a distinguished position in the field of Iranian performing arts and pave the way for a promising future in this domain.

Director Statement

Cinema allows you to be both a grandfather and a grandson at the same time — something that never happens in real life. Where is the pointlessness in that? Whenever people ask me about the story of my next film and I don’t answer, they think I’m trying to be mysterious, but the truth is, I’m just embarrassed to sum up a film in three sentences.
