A festival for the city - Venice 1973
Venice, June 24th 1973. Over 200.000 people await the speech of Enrico Berlinguer, general secretary of the Italian Communist Party. It's the largest demonstration ever organized by any Venetian left-wing party. The culmination of the most peculiar Festival Nazionale de "l'Unità" ever organized. Through photographs, documents, archive materials and interviews to the protagonists of this event, the documentary attempts to reconstruct the history of this forgotten festival. A journey into a Venice that no longer exists, made of politics, debates, popular culture, intellectuals, art, students and workers. In 1973, the foundations were laid for a change that would involve not only the Venetian communists, but the entire country. Another world seems possible.
