Adhura Chaand

This story is inspired by true incidents & it’s a family drama which revolves around the topic LGBT & Dowry System in our society. This is a story of a boy named Chaand who want to be a girl because his physical appearance is of a boy but the soul is girl he don’t feel comfortable in his body. He has 2 sisters along with his parents in his family. Her elder sister is of marriageable age, there parents are arranging dowry for her. So what will happen? Family & Society will accept Chaand as a girl? His Parents will be able to arrange the dowry money? Or everything will be in complete?

Director Biography - Anand Raj

ANAND RAJ is an Indian Actor, Writer And Director. He was born in Village Bodarwar District Kushinagar (U.P). After completing metric from Gorakhpur (U.P) he went on to pursue graduation from Delhi University in 2019 & One Year Diploma Course In Theatre & Filmmaking from Natyam Film & Theatre Institute, Delhi. After that in 2021 he founded Kashimanch Theatre and provide the knowledge of theatre by taking workshops, directed several street plays on social awareness under same banner and has theatre experience more than 4 years. Later he founded Kashi Film Productions in 2022, has directed 3 video song, directed 3 Award Winning Short Films and written several Short stories. He is aspiring filmmaker and well known for his talent in direction and acting.

Director Statement

This story is based on real incident. I just thought that there are many peoples who actually don't know about what is LGBTQ ! but this film don't show the meaning of LGBTQ it will show situation that what happen when people don't care about feelings of other person that what he or she is feeling, we always impose our personal thoughts, experiences to make them understand but i think sometimes we need to understand them, show love & respect to each and every person of society. That what’sthe motive of this short film. If we talk about this topic so, according to me this is a very sensitive topic of our society and we need to take care of them, give equal rights to each and everyone because one thing is common among all is that we are human being. I hope this film give some message to our society that what we want.
