Iuri Minfroy is a director from southern Brazil. He studied Visual Arts at Feevale University and Cinema and Audiovisual at the Federal University of Pelotas. He founded the production company Creep Filmes, with which he made short films and music videos.
His films have been shown at important festivals such as: Tiradentes Film Festival, Janela Internacional de Cinema do Recife, Santa Maria da Feira Film Festival in Portugal, São Paulo International Short Film Festival, Mostra do Filme Livre, Gramado Film Festival, International Border Film Festival, Goiânia Mostra Curtas, Mostra do Filme Livre, Rio de Janeiro International Short Film Festival and Bogotá Short Film Festival.
He was also the editor and co-writer of the short film, Secundas, winner of best film at the 45th Gramado Film Festival.
In 2024 he was awarded the Paulo Gustavo Law grant in Porto Alegre for the Lomba do Pinheiro project.
Currently, the production company is called Geada Filmes, a change that reflects a new phase as a filmmaker focusing on the language of animation and his first film in this segment, A ausência é um fantasma chamado desejo (The Absence is a Phantom Called Desire).
