Ab Oceano

Ab Oceano is a high-octane military action drama that follows an all-female SEAL team on a perilous mission to rescue a kidnapped U.S. State Department dignitary and recover a stolen military hard drive containing evidence of illegal arms deals and blueprints for deadly sonic weapon prototypes.

At the heart of the mission is Commander Sereia Stawarski — a mermaid secretly serving under the U.S. Navy’s most classified directives. As explosions ignite a shadow war across Southeast Asia, Sereia’s double life begins to unravel, threatening her covert marriage to Rear Admiral Rehan Briggs and testing the bond she shares with her longtime companion, Lieutenant Trinity Calhoun.

With time running out, they must fight for survival, sisterhood, and the truth — knowing that some secrets are too dangerous to surface.

My passion for writing Ab Oceano was first planted by the high-octane energy of Michael Bay’s cinema—films that delivered adrenaline, spectacle, and intensity. But what lingered with me most were the military themes that echoed across American culture, especially in the armed forces commercials that dominated the airwaves in the early 2000s. Those 30-second spots sold more than service; they sold a myth, a calling, a challenge.

What was missing, even back then—and remains scarce in 2025—are cinematic stories that center women in those same high-stakes military environments. Ab Oceano is my response to that absence. It’s a film that merges action spectacle with emotional truth, exploring what it means for women not just to serve, but to lead, survive, and sacrifice on their own terms.

As a screenwriter, I’m committed to creating female protagonists who are as bold, flawed, and unforgettable as the worlds they inhabit. This project is the foundation of that mission.

I’m a screenwriter and emerging filmmaker dedicated to telling stories centered on strong, multidimensional female protagonists across diverse genres—from military action to speculative fantasy. Ab Oceano is a bold expression of that mission: a high-stakes, emotionally grounded screenplay that explores sisterhood, sacrifice, and transformation within the framework of elite military operations.

The film draws cinematic inspiration from grounded realism and elevated genre aesthetics, while thematically exploring what it means for women to lead, to fight, and to be seen. My creative foundation is shaped by real-world influences, including my commitment to following the WNBA—an often-underestimated space of strategy, resilience, and power. These women, both real and fictional, deserve to be depicted with nuance, agency, and cinematic weight.

With Ab Oceano, I hope to contribute to a filmmaking landscape where complex female characters are not the exception—but the expectation.
